Opening for the season

April 27th to Sept 19th 2018

Craftship Enterprise will be reopening on Friday 27th April. The Craft shop and the Cafe will be open from 11.00am to  16.00pm

The “Crafteria” will be serving homemade lunches and teas with a wide selection of teas and coffees.

There will be lots of new craft workshops this year but still some of the old favourites such as peg looming and glass fusion.

The season starts with a two day stained glass workshop on the 28th and 29th April with Rosalind.

For beginners as well as the more experienced. This course cover glass scoring and cutting, soldering (using copper foil, not lead) and assembly.

You will get advice on pattern design and can make a light catcher or a small glass panel to take home at the end of the two days. Those of you who have been on Rosalind’s courses before know how relaxing and rewarding making your own piece of glass art can be. The cost for the 2 days is £130. (Half price (£65) for Stronsay Residents)

Crafts galore and much more

In a restored chapel on the beautiful island of Stronsay, Craftship Enterprise is a unique visitor centre for all ages to enjoy crafting. Whether you are experienced or a complete beginner, you can create greeting cards , quick knits, pictures, bunting and so much more.

Depending on the time you have, you can choose from our prepared “make and take kits” or select from our stock to make something individual and special.  There are plenty of examples on display to give you inspiration and we will be adding new techniques on a regular basis.

Most importantly, we wish you to have an experience which is informal and fun. So you can drop in for a couple of hours or organise a stay for a couple of days.  The craft room is full of light from its 16feet high windows and stocked with paper, card, trimmings, beads and buttons and all pretty bright things for you to make something special.

Enjoy a snack or just a cup of coffee in our tea room with fantastic sea views while browsing through our library of craft magazines and books.  Our shop is full of crafting supplies and affordable gifts.

Gift vouchers are available and will make a great present for a day out.

For special occasions, we can provide all you need to personalise your stationery, favours, bunting and greeting cards. So whether you’re preparing for a wedding, welcoming a new baby, or celebrating a birthday or special time of the year, we would be delighted to provide the venue and/or materials for your craft party.

If you belong to a group which would like a different fun day out, please contact us. Stronsay is known for its warm welcome and has excellent accommodation in its Hotel, B&B and hostel.

As Stronsay residents, we can help you enjoy our beautiful island to the full. If you have anyone with you that does not wish  to craft, we can arrange island tours, walks and bird watching trips.
